‘We aren’t attracted to the desert landscape’: We’re retiring soon and need sunny, tree-filled cities. Are we missing out on hidden gems?

So, my husband and I are about to retire, and I’ve been on the hunt for a mid to large-sized city that’s sunny all year (not necessarily warm though), affordable, and filled with trees. Turns out, we’re definitely not into the desert vibes. Good healthcare is also a must. So far, we only know about areas north of Denver and Sacramento. Are we totally missing some awesome places that we should check out? We’d love to hear any suggestions you might have.
